Saudi Food Manufacturing Show: 400 Companies Connect and Innovate, With Awards for Multivac, DC Norris, and Brenntag
The first Saudi Food Manufacturing show, which opened in Riyadh on Tuesday, is hosting over 400 companies from 35 countries.
The event, under the patronage of Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef, focuses on processing, packaging, and ingredients to facilitate business deals, connections, and collaborations.
Three award winners, Multivac, DC Norris, and Brenntag, shared their experiences.
Multivac, a German firm, won the Best Processing Innovation Award for its TX series and smart services at Gulfood Manufacturing.
They have had a branch office in Riyadh since 2009, making Saudi Arabia their largest market in the Middle East.
Amir Sotoudeh, Multivac's managing director, emphasized the significance of the Saudi market due to its focus on local production and manufacturing.
DC Norris, a UK-based process equipment company, is a market leader in food, dairy, and beverage manufacturing solutions, serving 62 countries.
They won the Best Processing Manufacturing Award.
Their jet cook system, used in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Dubai, and Azerbaijan, cooks meals faster (2-3 times) and uses less water, resulting in fewer burns and less cleaning, reducing costs.
It also consumes up to 55% less energy than traditional methods.
Brenntag, a 150-year-old German company, is the global market leader in chemical and ingredient distribution, winning the Best Ingredients Innovation Award.
Mahaboob Shaik, a technical sales manager at Brenntag, announced the creation of a plant-based Greek-style feta cheese, replicating milk-based proteins and constituents.
This vegan alternative reduces allergens in dishes like Caesar salad.
Several Saudi manufacturers, including Sapin, Anasia, and Memco, are participating in a show to exchange ideas.
Majed Al-Argoubi, CEO of the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones, emphasized the industrial sector's role in increasing the Kingdom's GDP and youth abilities through Saudi Vision 2030 and the expansion of cities.
