Saudi Arabia has issued 1.8 million Hajj e-visas for the 2023 Hajj season.
The Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah emphasized the importance of security, safety, and health in managing the Hajj pilgrimage.
The Ministry faced the challenge of providing a safe environment for pilgrims during the
COVID-19 pandemic in 2019, and has since implemented a unified system to protect pilgrims.
The Ministry also launched digital platforms for Hajj registration for domestic pilgrims six months before the start of the season.
The number of pilgrims is not considered complete until the 13th of Dhul Hijjah, as pilgrims may travel at different times and via various means.
The Ministry employs technology in various work fields as a crucial aid.
