Qatar and Jordan Strengthen Tourism Partnership Amid Growing Industry
Qatari delegation visits key landmarks in Amman to discuss enhanced cooperation.
Saad Al-Kharji, chairperson of Qatar Tourism, recently led a Qatari delegation on a visit to the historical site of Amman Citadel.
Accompanying them was Lina Annab, Jordan's minister of tourism and antiquities.
This meeting comes as both countries aim to bolster their collaboration in the tourism sector by developing joint promotional campaigns and sharing expertise in sustainable tourism marketing.
The Jordanian Ministry emphasized that the diverse tourism options available in both Jordan and Qatar provide a strong foundation for fostering a partnership designed to enrich visitor experiences and attract foreign travelers.
Despite challenges such as a significant decline in the number of foreign visitors to Petra, primarily due to regional conflicts, Jordan's tourism industry has seen an 11.9 percent increase in revenues to $3.67 billion during the first half of 2025 compared to the same period last year.
This move towards strengthening partnership comes at a time when both countries are seeking ways to enhance their offerings and resilience in the global tourism market, which is gradually recovering from the impacts of the pandemic and ongoing geopolitical tensions.
