Protesters Disrupt Israeli Philharmonic Concert in Paris, Four Detained
Tensions over the war in Gaza manifest as pro-Palestinian activists disrupt a concert at the Paris Philharmonic Hall.
PARIS — Protesters repeatedly disrupted a concert by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in Paris, causing brief panic among the audience and leading musicians to temporarily leave the stage.
The disruptions involved protesters shouting slogans such as "Israel Assassin" and setting off red flares twice.
This prompted the orchestra to withdraw from the performance area for several minutes before returning to complete their set.
Four individuals were apprehended by authorities in response to the disturbances, as announced by Interior Minister Laurent Nunez.
Nunez condemned the disruptions, emphasizing that nothing can justify such actions.
The tensions surrounding the war in Gaza have frequently resulted in protests taking place across France, with this incident at the Paris Philharmonic Hall being the latest manifestation of these ongoing tensions.
