Islamic Coalition Advances Military Exercises in Gabon
The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition is focusing on enhancing special forces' capabilities through strategic military initiatives.
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) has commenced the second phase of its military training program, named 'Competence,' in Libreville, Gabon.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the initiative encompasses intensive field training, tactical drills, and live-fire exercises tailored for special operations forces.
This particular phase emphasizes the enhancement of these forces' capabilities to counteract terrorist threats through practical simulations mimicking real combat scenarios.
Training elements include complex raids, navigation across diverse terrains, reacting to ambushes, managing hostage situations, and engaging with both moving and stationary targets during live-fire exercises.
The 'Competence' initiative is part of a broader strategy that involves 15 strategic programs aimed at promoting expertise transfer, knowledge exchange, and the establishment of a unified training system.
Such efforts are designed to bolster regional and international security frameworks.
In addition to its military endeavors, IMCTC recently organized a seminar in the Maldives titled 'Manifestations of Ideological Extremism in the Educational Environment.' The event served as part of the coalition's intellectual awareness initiative aimed at fortifying educators' and communities' resilience against extremism.
This included strategies to identify early warning signs of extremism, address its roots, and foster an environment of moderation and tolerance within educational settings.
This move aligns with the coalition's broader strategy to bolster ideological prevention systems across member states, contributing to global efforts in combating extremism and fostering a culture of peace and understanding.
