Hezbollah Fires Rockets at Israel After Civilian Deaths; At least 380 Killed Since October 2022
Lebanon's Hezbollah movement, an Iran-backed militant group, fired rockets into Israel on Wednesday in response to an Israeli strike that killed two civilians.
This came after Hezbollah had already launched rockets into northern Israel the previous night.
Hezbollah has been exchanging near-daily fire with the Israeli army since its ally Hamas initiated attacks on Israel in October 2022, leading to a war in Gaza.
In recent days, Hezbollah has increased its rocket attacks on Israeli military bases.
Hezbollah militants retaliated by launching Katyusha rockets at a northern Israeli border village, following Israeli attacks on civilian homes that resulted in the deaths of a woman and a girl in Lebanon's Hanin village.
Since October 7, at least 380 people have been killed in Lebanon, including 72 civilians, while Israel has reported 19 fatalities (11 soldiers and 8 civilians).
