The event included a presentation of the annual report on exploration projects and featured discussions on new survey and excavation plans.
Abdullah Al-Zahrani, the director general of the antiquities sector at the commission, expressed the goal of gaining knowledge about the latest results and discoveries from archaeological work in Saudi Arabia.

The commission's 2030 Archaeological Survey and Excavation Projects Plan was developed in partnership with national and international universities and various entities, including the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives, the Royal Commission for AlUla, and the Jeddah Historic District Program.
The presentation highlighted 72 scientific initiatives that marked the completion of the commission's surveying and archaeological excavation work.
In 2023, the Heritage Commission of Saudi Arabia registered 1,556 archaeological sites, documented 1,900 stone structures, and recorded 7,600 rock facades with drawings and inscriptions.
Paola Pesaresi, a senior director at the Diriyah Gate Development Authority, praised the commission's efforts, stating that the Kingdom is revealing its history through various national level endeavors, and the Heritage Commission plays a significant role in this process through support, cooperation, and collaboration.
Pesaresi emphasized the importance of preserving heritage as a valuable asset for future generations.
