Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia Leads Muslim World League Session on Unity, Peace, and Global Issues
The 46th session of the Muslim World League (MWL) was led by Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Sheikh, bringing together representatives from Muslim communities and religious minority groups to discuss critical issues affecting the Islamic world.
The seven key topics included the unity of the Islamic Ummah, the conflict in Gaza, disruptions in Red Sea navigation, the crisis in Sudan, Islamophobia, and the desecration of religious symbols.
Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz highlighted Saudi Arabia's role in supporting Muslims globally under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL), discussed the organization's initiatives to ease suffering, provide relief, and promote unity among Muslims.
The MWL updated its bylaws to reflect its international status, and Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, President of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, emphasized the importance of interfaith dialogue for global peace.
International figures, including Egypt's Minister of Awqaf Muhammad Mukhtar Gomaa Mabrouk and President of Religious Affairs in Türkiye, Ali Erbaş, praised the MWL's role in fostering peace and its efforts under Saudi leadership.
The Supreme Council, consisting of 65 Islamic leaders, guides the strategic direction and global initiatives of the Muslim World League (MWL).
Their mission is to tackle the challenges faced by Muslims and promote moderation and balance in the world.
