Explosion at Italian Power Plant Kills at Least Four, Leaves Five Missing
An explosion at Italy's Bargi hydroelectric power plant, run by Enel Green Power, killed at least four people and left five missing on Tuesday.
Three people were injured in the incident, which occurred due to a floor slab collapse, according to the mayor of the nearby town.
The cause of the explosion is still unknown, and rescue efforts are ongoing.
Firefighters are searching for the missing individuals in the eighth basement floor where water entered after the collapse.
At least one person was seriously injured in the incident.
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed concern over an explosion at Enel Green Power's Bargi plant in Bologna, Italy.
The renewable energy company reported a fire affecting one group of the plant, but the dam basin was undamaged and safe.
Production was halted, but there was no impact on local or national energy supply.
The company assured it was following safety procedures to evacuate staff.
