Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Warns Against Fraudulent Hajj Companies
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has issued a warning to those desiring to perform the Hajj pilgrimage, cautioning them against falling victim to fraudulent campaigns for the year 1445/2024.
These fake campaigns have been advertising their services on social media across various countries, clarifying that performing the Hajj can only be done by obtaining a Hajj visa issued by the relevant Saudi Arabian authorities, coordinated with countries through their official Hajj offices, or via the "Nusuk Hajj" platform for countries without specific Hajj offices.
The source detailed that the Ministry has identified advertisements from companies, campaigns, and fictitious accounts on social networks claiming to organize Hajj at attractive prices, urging the public to be wary of dealing with such entities.
Furthermore, the Ministry praised the efforts of the Supreme Commission for Hajj and Umrah in the Republic of Iraq, in cooperation with the Iraqi authorities, which have apprehended more than 25 fictitious companies marketing commercial Hajj packages. It also appreciates the efforts made by all countries in combating this unlawful phenomenon.
The Ministry previously clarified that the visas for Umrah, tourism, work, family visits, transit, among others, do not qualify the holder to perform the Hajj. It invites everyone to adhere to the regulations and laws imposed by the official Hajj organizing bodies and avoid being misled by fake companies and offices claiming to organize commercial Hajj campaigns, among other misleading labels.
The Ministry continuously monitors these fake companies and campaigns, hoping for public cooperation in fighting and reporting them, aiming to minimize the phenomenon of Hajj without permission. It urges everyone to obtain official information through visiting the Ministry's website and its social media channels.
