Saudi Royal Reserve Implements Stringent Entry and Picnic Rules
Authority Updates Al-Suman and Al-Dahna Area Regs to Protect Environment, Promote Ecotourism
Riyadh: The King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority has revised entry and picnic policies for the Al-Suman and Al-Dahna areas within the reserve.
These updates seek to safeguard local ecosystems, flora, and fauna while fostering ecotourism through guided tours and recreational activities.
Visitors are now required to obtain prior authorization via the authority's website, accessible daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Authorization requests must include visitor information, details about accompanying individuals, vehicle types, and an agreement to adhere to environmental rules.
Residents of administrative centers within the reserve are exempt from this authorization process.
The Authority emphasizes adherence to prohibited activities such as hunting, wood collection, open fires, vehicle operation on vegetation, littering, noise generation, visual pollution, and any other actions detrimental to the environment.
These measures aim to mitigate ecological damage, particularly in regions showcasing notable environmental recoveries in recent years.
The policy revisions are in line with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals for royal reserves and the broader objectives of the Saudi Green Initiative, which seeks to protect these gains and promote plant and wildlife growth across thriving basins and meadows.
