The Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites launches 'Makkah: A Living Legacy' to promote the city's historical and cultural sites.
MAKKAH: The Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites has recently launched a new campaign, titled "Makkah: A Living Legacy," according to the Saudi Press Agency.
This initiative aims to highlight the city’s rich historical and cultural heritage, increase visibility of its sites among both visitors and residents, and emphasize Makkah's unique identity and evolving history. The campaign offers an integrated cultural and spiritual experience, showcasing key locations such as the Clock Tower Museum, the International Fair and Museum of the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Civilization, Mount Arafat, and the Cave of Hira — the site where Prophet Muhammad received his first revelation from the Quran.
In addition to promoting these sites, the campaign is part of a broader strategy by the commission aimed at preserving, developing, and rehabilitating more than 98 locations across Makkah.
This initiative seeks not only to enhance the visitor experience but also to introduce new investment opportunities while revitalizing the sites themselves, ensuring their sustainability as vibrant cultural destinations.
