Saudi Arabia Signs MoU with Hong Kong's Belt and Road Office
The agreement aims to enhance information exchange in infrastructure and construction, as well as facilitate the entry of Hong Kong professional services into the Saudi market.
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - August 30, 2025 - Saudi Arabia has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Belt and Road Office under the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China.
The MoU seeks to foster information exchange in infrastructure and construction, and ease the entry of Hong Kong professional services into the Saudi market.
This strategic move is expected to open new avenues for cooperation, expand economic relations, and attract quality investments in promising sectors as part of Saudi Vision 2030.
The agreement was witnessed by Saudi Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih and Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu, with the signatures exchanged between Hong Kong Commissioner for Belt and Road Nicholas Ho Lik-chi and Fahad Al-Hashem, assistant deputy for services sectors at the Saudi Ministry of Investment.
In a separate development this week, Al-Falih led a Saudi delegation on an official visit to China.
Bilateral trade has surpassed $100 billion annually, making China the Kingdom’s largest trading partner.
