Pakistan's eastern Punjab province is currently facing its largest flood in history, according to a senior official.

The flood has affected over two million people and the water levels on rivers have reached all-time highs due to extreme monsoon rainfall exacerbated by global warming.

Pakistan is among the countries most vulnerable to climate change, and recent months have seen severe flash floods and landslides across the northern and northwestern mountainous regions triggered by heavy downpours and cloudbursts.
