The Kremlin accuses European powers of obstructing US efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine, stating that Russia will continue its operation until it sees real signs of Kyiv's willingness for peace.
Moscow has claimed that European nations are hindering the United States President
Donald Trump's peace initiatives in Ukraine.
According to Kremlin sources, Russia is prepared to resolve the conflict through political and diplomatic means but asserts that it does not yet see reciprocity from the Ukrainian government.
Consequently, Russia will persist with its special military operation.
The tensions between Russia and Ukraine escalated in February 2022 when Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an invasion involving tens of thousands of troops following eight years of skirmishes between Russian-backed separatists and Ukrainian forces.
Since then, the conflict has resulted in over 1.2 million casualties, as reported by the United States.
Currently, Russia occupies approximately one-fifth of Ukraine's territory.
European leaders doubt that Putin is genuinely interested in achieving peace.
Despite his repeated assertions of willingness to negotiate, Putin insists that Russia will not relinquish any territories it has captured in Ukraine.
Recently, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov announced an acceleration in the rate of territorial gains by the Russian military, with areas of 600-700 square kilometers now being secured monthly, compared to 300-400 square kilometers at the start of the year.
