This effort follows a collaboration agreement signed in Riyadh last December and has already resulted in a 120 percent increase in date exports to China over the past year.
In the first quarter of 2024, Saudi Arabia exported dates worth SR644 million (one hundred seventy-two million dollars), a 13.7 percent rise from the previous year.
Saudi date exports have significantly increased in countries like Austria, Norway, Argentina, Brazil, Portugal, Germany, Canada, Morocco, Indonesia, South Korea, the UK, the US, and Malaysia.
With over 36 million palm trees producing more than 1.6 million tons of dates annually, Saudi Arabia leads in date exports globally.
The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture emphasizes improving product quality through good agricultural practices and quality standards in factories.
