At the Riyadh Auto Show, experts called on the Saudi government to enhance EV incentives and expand charging infrastructure to boost electric vehicle adoption, highlighting the need for government support similar to Europe and the US.
Building on this, Lucid Motors, backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, is set to export Saudi-made electric vehicles globally, aligning with the Kingdom's goal to achieve 30% EV adoption in Riyadh by 2030 and reach carbon neutrality by 2060.
Shifting gears, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will open the ninth session of the Shoura Council in Riyadh, outlining Vision 2030 milestones and solidifying domestic and foreign policies, continuing the Kingdom’s comprehensive development journey.
In other governance news, the Saudi Cabinet, led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, approved key commercial and real estate laws and designated 2025 as the Year of Handicrafts, while also strengthening ties with China and Egypt.
On the international stage, Saudi Arabia participated in the GCC Executive Committee of Civil Aviation meeting in Doha, aiming to unify civil aviation efforts and discuss safety, technical specifications, and economic feasibilities of a regional communication network.
