Prince Saud bin Nayef, the Emir of Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province, has initiated the Al-Ahsa International Airport development and expansion project.
The goal is to improve air connectivity to the region and cater to rising tourism demands.
The airport currently has two terminals, spanning 2,660 square meters and featuring 10 gates for domestic and international departures and arrivals.
After expansion, the project will cover over 58,000 square meters.
