Oman Boosts Industrial Infrastructure with New Agreements: Saudi Arabia and Japan

Oman's industrial infrastructure will be enhanced through a new agreement with Saudi Arabia, which aims to finance the development of several industrial zones in Oman and encourage private sector participation.
The agreement was signed between Oman's Minister of Finance and the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development.

Discussions focused on cooperation mechanisms and updates on collaborative projects.

The goal is to develop the industrial and logistical sectors by providing essential services, leading to private sector involvement in Oman's economic growth, as outlined in Oman Vision 2040.

This memorandum outlines cooperation between Oman and Japan to support development in various sectors in Oman, including infrastructure, education, water, industry and mining, transportation and communications, and energy.

During a meeting in Tokyo between Oman's Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones chairman Ali bin Masoud Al-Sunaidi and Japan's minister of economy, trade and industry Ken Saito, they discussed ongoing business cooperation and major projects, such as a low-carbon iron production project in Duqm's Special Economic Zone.

Oman's Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Protection, Ali Al Sunaidi, visited the US to strengthen economic ties.

He met with officials from companies in the iron and renewable energy sectors and visited Yokohama Port to learn about energy and petroleum product transportation.

Additionally, Oman and the US held their second strategic dialogue in Washington to discuss trade, investment, and challenges comprehensively.

The Omani side was led by Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Issa al-Harthy, and the US side was chaired by Jose Fernandez.

The text describes a discussion between representatives from the United States and Oman, focusing on potential opportunities for American businesses in Oman.

The key industries mentioned are Information and Communication Technology (ICT), semiconductors, and clean energy services.

Both sides expressed a commitment to increasing cooperation in clean energy solutions and mineral investments.

Additionally, they addressed environmental priorities under the Omani-American cooperation memorandum and discussed fostering communication between researchers from both countries for clean energy research.
