Nuthree: Saudi Geological Survey's New Initiative to Boost Mining Exploration and Empower Entrepreneurs
Nuthree, an exploration incubator initiative, has been launched at the Saudi Geological Survey's headquarters in Jeddah to develop the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's resource sites and position mining as a third pillar of income.
The project aims for cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority to support emerging investors in mining exploration.
Saudi Geological Survey CEO Abdullah Al-Shamrani stated that the Kingdom is undergoing a new phase of growth driven by Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program, and Nuthree will create a local, sustainable exploration environment through the Kingdom's resources sites.
The text discusses the efforts of the Saudi Geological Survey, led by Al-Shamrani, to enhance the Kingdom's geological knowledge due to its rich variety of metals.
The survey aims to serve as an incubator for small-scale investors and explorers, supporting localization of exploration for Saudi and foreign firms.
The survey is gathering comprehensive information on the Kingdom's sedimentary cover and Arabian Shield to attract investors.
The incubator's primary goal is to localize exploration and provide information across various geological fields, with an extensive range of metals planned to be explored.
Investors are encouraged to form partnerships and alliances for optimal outcomes.
Abdulrahman Al-Balushi, Undersecretary of the Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, expressed support for the exploration process in the Kingdom, which is considered a significant first step in the mining industry.
The ministry is focused on helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by partnering with the private and public sectors, academic institutions, and providing licenses for ore exploration in base metals and precious metals.
The ministry has granted 500 licenses to private companies, some of which are Saudi-based, while others are joint ventures or foreign-owned and registered with the Saudi Ministry of Commerce.
The text discusses the support given to mining exploration in Oman, focusing on locations with valuable minerals like nickel, lithium, zinc, and copper.
Oman's Nuthree incubator aims to help small and medium-sized enterprises in the mining industry by offering geology and mining expertise through technical courses, site visits, and knowledge sharing with experts.
