King Abdullah of Jordan Announces Parliamentary Elections, to be Held Within Constitutional Timeframe
King Abdullah of Jordan announced on Wednesday, through a royal decree as reported by state TV, that parliamentary elections will take place in the country.
According to the Jordanian constitution, multi-party elections are typically held within four months of the conclusion of a parliament's four-year term.
The last election, which involved over 4.6 million eligible voters, occurred in November 2020.
The precise date for the upcoming election will be determined by an independent election commission.
