Jordan, Saudi Arabia Strengthen Cooperation in Archiving and Documentation
Agreement between Jordan's Royal Hashemite Documentation Center and Saudi Arabia's National Center for Archives and Records aims to enhance preservation and exchange of historical documents.
Jordan's government has approved a memorandum of understanding with Saudi Arabia to bolster cooperation in archiving and documentation.
This move, as reported by the Petra news agency on Wednesday, establishes an agreement between Jordan's Royal Hashemite Documentation Center and Saudi Arabia's National Center for Archives and Records.
The agreement will provide a framework for preserving and cataloging historical documents, alongside facilitating the exchange of expertise and technology.
Key components include joint training programs focusing on document restoration, digitization, and professional development.
Additionally, plans are set for archival exhibitions, scientific seminars, and collaborative research projects.
A crucial stipulation within the agreement is that shared documents and data will not be distributed to third parties without prior written consent, ensuring confidentiality even beyond the pact's duration.
The initial term of the agreement spans three years, with automatic renewal unless one party chooses to opt out in writing at least six months before expiration.
