Dr. Hanan Al-Ahmadi Hosts US Congress Delegation, Discusses Shoura Council Functions and Saudi-US Relations
A delegation of US Congress members' senior aides and advisors met with Dr. Hanan Al-Ahmadi, the assistant speaker of Saudi Arabia's Shoura Council, at the council's headquarters in Riyadh.
Dr. Al-Ahmadi welcomed the delegation and explained the Shoura Council's functions, which include specialized committees, legislative roles, and supervisory duties.
She also mentioned the council's involvement in international unions and parliamentary friendship committees.
Dr. Al-Ahmadi discussed Saudi Arabia's advancements in various sectors, focusing on legislative developments.
The meeting touched upon bilateral relations between the two countries, addressing parliamentary affairs and shared interests.
In attendance were Dr. Ibrahim Al-Nahas, head of the Saudi-American Parliamentary Friendship Committee, and committee members Maj. Gen. Ali Al Sheikh, Dr. Reem Al Yahya, Dr. Faisal Al Fadl, Prof. Bandar Asiri, and Dr. Najwa Al Ghamdi.
