China Protests to Japan Over PM Takaichi’s Taiwan Remarks

BEIJING: China has expressed strong objections and protests to Japan regarding recent statements made by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi concerning Taiwan.
Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian addressed the issue during a press briefing on Monday, emphasizing that such remarks could potentially harm the already delicate China-Japan diplomatic relations.According to Kyodo news agency reports, Takaichi recently communicated to Japanese lawmakers that an attack from China on Taiwan may pose a "survival-threatening situation" for Japan.
In response to these comments, Lin Jian stated that any interference by Japanese officials in cross-strait affairs could result in significant negative repercussions for Sino-Japanese relations.Lin urged the Japanese government to refrain from further provocations and to cease involvement in issues related to the complex political status of Taiwan, which has been a persistent point of contention between China and various countries, including Japan.
