Blinken Calls for Gaza Ceasefire and Discusses Iran Threat with Saudi Leaders at Riyadh Economic Forum
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Borge Brende, president of the World Economic Forum, during the Special Meeting On Global Collaboration, Growth And Energy For Development in Riyadh.
Blinken had earlier addressed the US-Gulf Cooperation Council meeting, urging foreign ministers to negotiate a ceasefire agreement in Gaza to address the humanitarian crisis and release hostages held by Hamas.
He emphasized that a ceasefire was the most effective solution to alleviate suffering and create space for a more just and durable solution.
The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, met with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ministers and emphasized that the US will not wait for a ceasefire in Gaza to address civilians' needs.
Blinken also discussed the increasing threat from Iran and the importance of defense integration among GCC countries.
In a separate meeting with Saudi Prince Faisal bin Farhan, they reviewed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperate in various fields, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
