Established in Riyadh in 1975, the organization aims to foster collaboration among the national societies of the Red Crescent and Red Cross in 21 Arab countries.
This milestone gathering has brought together representatives from across the region to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in critical areas such as ambulance services and emergency medical responses, alongside broader humanitarian initiatives.
The Saudi deputy minister for international multilateral affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Rassi, attended the organization's general assembly on behalf of Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
He was presented with a medal by the organization 'in recognition of the ministry's support' since its inception, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.
Reflecting on five decades of progress, Abdullah Al-Muhaidli, the organization's secretary-general, praised the continuous support from Saudi Arabia and highlighted how the organization has expanded its role in addressing crises, conflicts, and natural disasters throughout the region.
