Al-Rajhi Launches Regulation on Occupational Fitness and Non-Communicable Diseases Examinations
Regulation aims to enhance workers’ health and reduce occupational diseases.
Riyadh — Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi launched the Regulation on Occupational Fitness and Non-Communicable Diseases Examinations on Monday.
The regulation targets early detection of non-communicable diseases, improving workplace health, reducing work-related accidents and diseases, and ensuring suitable candidates are selected for high-risk professions.
The new rule seeks to strengthen preventive measures within workplaces, improve public health and quality of life for employees, and influence safety, performance, and productivity positively.
By reinforcing early medical examinations, the regulation aims to reduce occupational injuries, accidents, and diseases while raising workers’ physical and psychological fitness levels.
It also governs pre-employment, periodic, and exceptional medical assessments for individuals in high-risk professions.
Furthermore, this measure establishes comprehensive health databases to support decision-makers and enhance oversight, thereby contributing to efficient work environments.
The National Council for Occupational Safety and Health will continue striving to adhere to national standards and international conventions, reinforcing the Kingdom’s global occupational safety and health standing.
