US Military Urges Iraqi Government to Protect Troops After Iran-aligned Militia Attacks
On Tuesday, the US military urged the Iraqi government to take measures to secure American troops in both Iraq and Syria following unsuccessful attacks by militias aligned with Iran the previous day.
The warning came during a press briefing from Air Force Major General Patrick Ryder, who expressed concern over the safety of coalition and Iraqi personnel.
Ryder emphasized the need for the Iraqi government to take action to protect US forces in both countries from further attacks by these militia groups.
He also hinted at the possibility of defensive measures if the attacks persisted, as the US has done in the past.
