The president of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, discussed the recent developments in Gaza with the UK prime minister, Keir Starmer, during a telephone conversation on Monday.

The leaders also addressed their respective nations' efforts to promote mutual prosperity and advance peace and stability across the Middle East and globally.

The UAE president and the British prime minister emphasized the significance of maintaining the ceasefire that was brokered in October and called for facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid in sufficient quantities to alleviate the suffering of civilians in Gaza.

They both underlined the need to work towards a just and lasting peace between Palestinians and Israelis, asserting that a two-state solution is the only viable path to stability in the region and a better future for all its peoples.

The conversation also touched on enhancing cooperation between the UAE and the UK to support their mutual interests.
