Shura Links: Saudi Arabia's Sustainable 18-Hole Island Golf Course with Stunning Red Sea Views, Set to Open in 2025
Red Sea Global has revealed the designs for Shura Links, Saudi Arabia's first 18-hole island golf course on Shura Island, scheduled for completion by 2025.
The course will feature holes with water views and fairways surrounded by the Red Sea.
Collaborating with environmental consultants, Shura Links will prioritize sustainability, focusing on water conservation.
The course will minimize water usage through select turf grasses and soil sensors, and will incorporate advanced irrigation technology.
A 140-hectare golf site will have 20% maintained turf to preserve quality and allow for a natural environment.
The course is designed in partnership with renowned golf architect Brian Curley, who expects the unique, natural design to attract golfers of all skill levels.
The course offers year-round sunshine and beautiful sunsets.
The text describes a golf course with a length of 7,500 yards and various tees and experiences at each hole.
Holes 4-7 follow the coastline, while holes 14-18 offer a dramatic finish against the backdrop of the sea.
The clubhouse is designed by Foster + Partners and follows the Coral Bloom design concept on Shura Island.
Red Sea Global is developing a plan to protect wildlife on the island, considering using the course's irrigation system to promote mangrove growth.
