Sheikh Tamim of Qatar Begins Asia Tour in Manila, Discusses Cooperation and Signs Agreements
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar, commenced his state visit to Manila, the capital city of the Philippines, on a Sunday, as part of his Asia tour, according to the Qatar News Agency.
Upon arrival at Maharlika Presidential Airport, Sheikh Tamim was welcomed by a delegation consisting of Rafael Perpetuo Lotilla, the Minister of Energy; Ahmed bin Saad Al-Humaidi, the Qatari Ambassador to the Philippines; and Lilibeth Velasco Puno, the Philippine Ambassador to Qatar.
Senior officials from the Philippine government and members of the Qatari embassy were also present.
Sheikh Tamim's itinerary includes stops in Bangladesh and Nepal after his time in the Philippines.
Throughout his tour, the Emir will engage in discussions with the countries' leaders and senior officials, with a focus on strengthening cooperation and addressing shared concerns.
Various agreements and memorandums of understanding are anticipated to be signed across multiple sectors during his visits.
