Saudi Virtual Hospital Wins Digital Health Award

Saudi Virtual Hospital Wins Digital Health Award

The Seha Virtual Hospital and the Innovation Empowerment Center have been recognized for their digital health initiatives at the Zimam Digital Health Forum.
Riyadh: The Ministry of Health's Seha Virtual Hospital, in collaboration with the Innovation Empowerment Center, has received the Zimam Digital Health Award.

This accolade was granted in the category of 'Digital Health Organization of the Year' during the eighth Zimam Digital Health Forum held in Dubai.

The award highlights the institutions' commitment to adopting innovative digital health strategies aimed at enhancing healthcare quality, improving access, and broadening the reach of medical services.

These efforts align with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program under Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to promote sustainable healthcare advancements.

This recognition honors organizations within the Middle East and North Africa that successfully implement effective digital health initiatives, enhance local capabilities, and improve patient outcomes.

Through its pioneering virtual hospital in Riyadh, the Ministry of Health showcases the integration of modern medical technologies to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.

The Seha Virtual Hospital was inaugurated in February 2022 as part of a broader strategy to digitize the healthcare sector within the Kingdom.

Its primary goal is to advance and promote the adoption of virtual medicine practices, delivering high-quality virtual health services on both a national and international level.

This innovative approach eliminates the need for patients to travel extensively throughout the Kingdom for consultations with specialized physicians.

Additionally, it removes limitations imposed by regular clinic hours, providing greater flexibility and accessibility to medical care.

Distinguishing itself from conventional video consultations, the virtual hospital enables patients to attend real-time live video clinical sessions directly at their local hospitals.

These sessions are conducted with top specialists located across the Kingdom, allowing for a comprehensive evaluation process.

During these sessions, vital signs, tests, and X-rays can be taken and instantly shared among a network of experts.

Furthermore, emergency interventions can be promptly provided around the clock, with experienced physicians guiding local medical staff through complex cases.

This award not only underscores the significance of digital innovation in healthcare but also highlights Saudi Arabia's commitment to advancing its healthcare system under the guidance of Vision 2030.
