Saudi Museum Authority to Launch Second Edition of 'Art of the Kingdom' in Riyadh
The exhibition, which follows a successful international debut, will showcase contemporary Saudi art at the Saudi Museum of Contemporary Art in JAX.
The Saudi Museum Authority has announced the upcoming launch of the second edition of the 'Art of the Kingdom' exhibition in Riyadh, set to open on February 24, 2025. Following its successful debut in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where it attracted 26,000 visitors, the exhibition will be hosted at the Saudi Museum of Contemporary Art in JAX.
This marks the continuation of 'Art of the Kingdom' as the first traveling exhibition of contemporary Saudi art.
The exhibition will feature works by 17 prominent Saudi artists, including Muhannad Shono, Lina Qazzaz, and Ahmed Mater, and will explore themes of Saudi Arabia’s history, cultural memory, and heritage from a contemporary perspective.
In addition to pieces from its inaugural exhibition, the Riyadh showcase will include exclusive artworks created specifically for this venue.
The exhibition will be open to the public until April 24, 2025, with tickets available soon via the WeBook platform.
Following the Riyadh display, the exhibition will travel to Beijing, China, as part of the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of Saudi-China diplomatic relations, where it will be held at the National Museum of China.
