Saudi, Italian FMs Meet in Rome, Discuss Strengthening Relations, Resolving Conflicts
Ministers emphasize importance of delivering aid to Gaza and resolving the Ukrainian crisis through peaceful means.
In a significant meeting held in Rome on Thursday, Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani discussed various aspects of their bilateral relationship.
The two ministers focused on enhancing cooperation in multiple fields while also addressing key regional and international issues.A major point of discussion was the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, with both parties emphasizing the need for peaceful solutions and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the region.
They highlighted the importance of working together through international mechanisms to ensure that relief efforts are effectively implemented in Gaza.The meeting also touched on the ongoing Ukrainian crisis.
Tajani praised Saudi Arabia's efforts in facilitating dialogue between Russia and the United States, aiming to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
Both ministers agreed on the significance of resolving such crises through diplomatic means rather than resorting to violence or military actions.In addition to discussing regional conflicts, Prince Faisal and Tajani evaluated the economic ties between their countries.
They noted that the trade volume had exceeded $12 billion in 2024, demonstrating a strong foundation for further cooperation.
Both sides expressed optimism about enhancing economic relations in the future.The meeting was attended by key officials from both Saudi Arabia and Italy, including Prince Musab bin Mohammed Al-Farhan, advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs; Mohammed Al-Yahya, advisor to the minister; Dr. Manal Radwan; and Tariq Al-Fayez, deputy Saudi ambassador to Italy.
