Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair Joins White House Meeting with Trump on Post-War Gaza Plans

US and Israeli military actions in Gaza continue as discussions focus on post-war reconstruction and humanitarian aid.
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has joined a meeting at the White House with US President Donald Trump to discuss plans for post-war Gaza.

The meeting, which also included Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, aimed to address the comprehensive plan being developed by the US regarding the future of the region following the ongoing conflict.

However, no details have been disclosed about the specific proposals under discussion.

The White House has emphasized that President Trump's primary goal is to bring an end to the war and promote peace and prosperity for all in the region.

Steve Witkoff expressed optimism about ending the war within four months and highlighted the humanitarian motives behind the plans being developed.

The conflict in Gaza continues, with Israeli forces advancing into different districts of the city, including Ibad al-Rahman, resulting in the destruction of homes and displacement of residents.

The UN and non-governmental organizations have raised concerns about the humanitarian impact of these actions, particularly as a famine was declared last week in Gaza City.

The UN Security Council has called for Israel to lift restrictions on humanitarian aid unconditionally and prevent the use of starvation as a weapon of war.

Efforts to find a ceasefire deal and bring back Israeli hostages held by Hamas have been ongoing, with protests demanding an end to the conflict and the release of all hostages.

However, the Israeli government has not accepted recent proposals for a truce and the return of some hostages, insisting on a comprehensive agreement that ends the war on their terms.

The conflict began in response to a Hamas-led attack on southern Israel, resulting in significant casualties and displacement.

Since then, over 62,900 people have been killed in Gaza, with widespread damage to homes and collapse of essential services.

Global food security experts have confirmed the presence of famine in the Gaza City area.

Efforts to address the post-war future of Gaza are ongoing, with discussions focused on reconstruction plans and humanitarian aid.

The situation remains tense as both sides continue their respective military actions.
