The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has issued a warning regarding the consumption of Arrowhead brand roast beef, citing contamination with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria.

Laboratory tests confirmed the presence of the bacteria in the product, which poses a potential health risk.

The affected product, originating from the United Arab Emirates, is sold in 2-3 kg packages.

It has a production date of 02/12/2024, an expiry date of 01/04/2025, and bears batch number B09M24NW.

The SFDA has advised consumers to avoid consuming the product and dispose of any remaining quantities.

The authority has initiated a product recall and is taking regulatory action against the importing company.

The SFDA stressed its commitment to safeguarding public health, noting that violations of food safety regulations can result in fines of up to SR10 million, imprisonment for up to ten years, or both.

The authority reiterated its zero-tolerance approach to food safety violations and encouraged the public to report any concerns via its unified call center at 19999.
