Saudi Fashion Commission Launches Red Sea Fashion Week, Showcasing Local Talent on Global Stage
The Saudi Fashion Commission is hosting the first Red Sea Fashion Week later this month to showcase Saudi Arabian fashion talent to a global audience, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Burak Cakmak, the commission's CEO, stated that the event aims to establish Saudi Arabia as a significant player in the global fashion industry and support local designers.
This initiative aligns with Vision 2030 goals of enriching the country's cultural heritage and expanding economic opportunities.
The Saudi Fashion Commission is hosting the first edition of Red Sea Fashion Week from May 16-18 at the St. Regis Red Sea Resort.
The event includes a fashion show and two days of side events showcasing luxury fashion, jewelry, ready-to-wear items, and resort wear collections from Saudi and international designers.
This is the latest effort by Saudi Arabia to promote its fashion industry, following its first fashion week in Riyadh in 2023 and a pop-up event in Milan last year.
