Saudi Delegation Joins EU–MENA Security Conference in Lisbon
Riyadh: Assistant Interior Minister Hisham Al-Faleh leads Saudi delegation to the EU–MENA Ministerial Conference aiming for regional dialogue and security cooperation.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by Assistant Interior Minister Hisham Al-Faleh, participated in the EU–MENA Ministerial Conference held in Lisbon.
The conference was inaugurated by Portuguese Home Affairs Minister Maria Lucia Amaral.
The event aims to foster political dialogue between the European Union and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regions, with a particular focus on enhancing security cooperation.During the conference, Al-Faleh emphasized that Saudi Arabia is keen on exchanging ideas and future visions regarding regional security strategies.
He highlighted the significance of bolstering international partnerships in combatting organized crime and the importance of developing law-enforcement agencies through knowledge sharing.
Moreover, he called for strengthening EU–MENA regional cooperation to tackle prevailing challenges.The conference brought together ministers from Arab countries and Europe as well as representatives of international organizations.
Discussions focused on joint security issues, the review of new security models, and the exploration of mechanisms for coordination and information exchange.
The gathering aimed at addressing both regional and international security challenges through enhanced cooperation.Participants acknowledged that crime in all its forms poses significant obstacles to peace and stability, necessitating improved international collaboration.
By engaging in dialogue and strengthening partnerships, nations from the EU and MENA regions can work together more effectively towards a secure future for their citizens.
