Saudi Customs Teams Thwart Drug Smuggling Attempts at Al Haditha and Al Batha Border Points
Saudi Arabian customs officials at Al Haditha and Al Batha successfully intercepted and seized a significant drug stash, with over 117,000 Captagon pills and more than 6 kilograms of 'Shabu'.
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) reported that the smuggled drugs were concealed in two trucks at these border points.
The first truck at Al Haditha was found with the pills hidden in various compartments, while the second truck at Al Batha had Shabu ingeniously stashed inside a fire extinguisher.
These operations led to the arrest of three suspects in connection with the smuggling, thanks to collaboration with the General Directorate for Drug Control.
ZATCA reaffirmed its dedication to bolstering border security and its ongoing efforts to shield the community from the dangers of smuggling.
The Authority also called for public support to combat smuggling and invited citizens to report any suspicious activities anonymously through their hotline (1910), email (1910@zatca.gov.sa), or international number (+966 114208417), with the possibility of financial rewards for verified tips.
