Saudi Crown Prince Hosts Global Leaders in Riyadh, Discusses Economy and Middle East Tensions
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman hosted a gathering of international officials in Riyadh following the conclusion of a special meeting of the World Economic Forum on Monday.
Among the attendees were Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
During the two-day event, the crown prince emphasized the need for international cooperation to strengthen and interconnect the global economy, making it more resilient.
Notably, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was in attendance, marking his seventh visit to the Middle East since the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel.
Israel responded with a military offensive in Gaza, which has garnered significant criticism from the global community.
Blinken's visit to Saudi Arabia comes as the US seeks to address regional tensions and reaffirm diplomatic ties.
