Saudi Authority Launches Fifth Purple Saturday Initiative for People with Disabilities

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: The Authority for the Care of People with Disabilities has announced the fifth edition of its Purple Saturday initiative, scheduled for July 26.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), this annual event takes place on the last Saturday of July and is organized in collaboration with government, private, and nonprofit organizations across the Kingdom.The initiative offers incentives to companies that develop programs promoting inclusion and participation for individuals with disabilities.
Participating stores provide special discounts and promotions for people with disabilities during Purple Saturday, as reported by SPA.Since its inception, Purple Saturday has gained momentum, with over 3,500 retail locations in Saudi Arabia participating.
Contributions have also been received from other Gulf countries, highlighting the regional impact of this initiative.This year, the Authority will introduce the Purple Saturday Award to recognize outstanding offers, companies, and initiatives that support disability rights.
The award aims to encourage quality efforts, increase community engagement, and inspire further public support for individuals with disabilities.The Authority continues its cross-sectoral work to enhance services provided to people with disabilities and raise awareness among the general public.
Its ultimate goal is to foster an inclusive society where equal opportunities are available to all individuals.
