Saudi Arabia Welcomes Conjoined Filipino Twins for Potential Separation Surgery under Saudi Conjoined Twins Program
Conjoined Filipino twins, Akhizah and Ayeesha Yusoph, arrived in Riyadh from Manila on Sunday as part of a Saudi evacuation plan.
Born in the Philippines with one shared liver, they are now being assessed at King Abdullah Specialized Children’s Hospital for separation surgery.
The Saudi aid agency KSrelief, led by Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, facilitated their journey and expressed gratitude for the Kingdom's support of the Conjoined Twins Program.
A program led by Dr. Al-Rabeeah in Saudi Arabia has helped over 130 children from 25 countries since 1990 who were born with shared internal organs.
The program is significant in the medical field and aligns with Saudi Vision 2030's goals to improve healthcare services.
The parents of Akhizah and Ayeesha expressed gratitude to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their welcome and hospitality upon their arrival in the Kingdom.
