Saudi Arabia Makes Significant Progress in Safeguarding and Advancing Human Rights
Dr. Hisham Al-Sheikh, Deputy Chairman of the Saudi Human Rights Commission, has highlighted Saudi Arabia's significant progress in human rights protection and enhancement.
Addressing an international symposium in China, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, he attributed these advancements to the leadership of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and the strategic framework of Saudi Vision 2030.
The Vision outlines public policies, including programs and initiatives aimed at advancing human rights, which have spurred rapid developments in the country.
Dr. Al-Sheikh emphasized that the nation's Islamic values and constitutional principles support its human rights evolution, which is also reinforced through its commitment to international agreements.
The Saudi HRC plays an integral role, operating with full independence according to international norms and Islamic Shariah. He concluded by underscoring the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as a foundational UN document for upholding human dignity and equality.
