Saudi Arabia and Mauritania Sign MOU for Energy Cooperation in Renewables, Electricity, and Clean Hydrogen
Saudi Arabia's Energy Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, met with Mauritania's Petroleum, Mines and Energy Minister, Al-Nani Ould Achrouqa, in Riyadh on Tuesday.
They discussed potential energy cooperation between the two countries in electricity, renewable energy, and clean hydrogen.
The ministers signed a memorandum of understanding to formalize their cooperation.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the WEF special meeting in Riyadh.
The MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) focuses on collaboration in the renewable energy sector, including solar, wind, waste-to-energy, and ground energy.
It also aims to enhance the electricity system for better reliability and security.
The partnership will develop cleaner fossil fuels using advanced technologies and practices to minimize environmental impacts.
This includes carbon capture technologies and improving energy production and consumption efficiency.
