Saudi Arabia and France Strengthen Cultural Ties with New Cooperation Program
Agreement signed at Palace of Versailles aims to boost bilateral exchanges in music, film, heritage, museums, fashion, libraries, theater, performing arts, and visual arts.
In a significant move to bolster cultural relations between Saudi Arabia and France, Saudi Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan and French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati have signed an executive program for cultural cooperation.
The ceremony took place on Thursday at the historic Palace of Versailles in Paris, setting the stage for enhanced collaboration across multiple cultural sectors. The discussions during their meeting covered a broad spectrum of cultural areas, encompassing music, film, heritage, museums, fashion, libraries, theater, performing arts, and visual arts.
This comprehensive approach aims to foster deeper connections between the two nations through shared cultural experiences.A notable element of this new partnership is an initiative focused on advancing education and training in filmmaking.
The program establishes a collaborative framework between Saudi Arabia's Saudi Film Commission and France’s National Center for Cinema and the Moving Image.
This collaboration is intended to support the development of cinematic skills and exchange creative talent, thereby enriching both countries' film industries. The agreement also references executive programs previously signed during French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Saudi Arabia in December 2024.
These programs are designed to enhance international cultural exchange and further expand the burgeoning partnership between Riyadh and Paris.
By promoting cross-cultural dialogue and understanding, these initiatives reflect a shared vision of building a more interconnected global cultural community.
