Saudi Arabia's King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation have formed a new partnership to combat polio and reduce poverty in 33 member countries of the Islamic Development Bank.
The collaboration aims to immunize 370 million children against polio each year and alleviate poverty.
This initiative aligns with the Global Polio Eradication Initiative and the Lives and Livelihoods Fund, which focuses on healthcare, small-scale farming, and infrastructure development to uplift millions from poverty.
The announcement was made during a signing ceremony in Riyadh at the World Economic Forum's special meeting.
A notable event brought together Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Saudi Arabian advisor and KSrelief Supervisor General, and
Bill Gates, Co-Chair of the Gates Foundation.
Their presence signified a commitment to utilizing this partnership to promote sustainable development and health security in underprivileged areas around the world.
