SABIC Leads the Way in ESG Reporting among Saudi-Listed Companies
SABIC, a Saudi Arabian company, has been ranked first in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting among Saudi-listed companies, according to a new report by Bridge ESG.
The report compared various ESG attributes among 13 out of 217 companies listed on Tadawul and found that SABIC scored 76% in ESG ratings, followed by Saudi Arabian Oil Co. with 69% and Petro Rabigh with 54%.
The report was compiled based on annual reports published by the companies on Tadawul and their disclosure against the requirements of the exchange's ESG guidelines, which were issued in 2021.
However, only five out of 13 firms are giving complete disclosures around toxic emissions and wastes, while just nine companies provided full details around greenhouse gas emissions.
The report also noted that nine companies are giving complete disclosures involving human capital development, while four firms provided full details involving the access to healthcare attribute.
