NEOM Nature Reserve Receives 132 Species Release to Bolster Biodiversity
The National Center for Wildlife and NEOM have released 132 species into the NEOM Nature Reserve to boost biodiversity.
This group, primed for their natural habitats, includes 80 Arabian sand gazelles, 12 mountain gazelles, 12 ibexes, and 28 Arabian oryx.
Dr. Mohammed Qurban, head of the National Center for Wildlife, emphasized the release as part of a larger mission to save endangered species and support Saudi Arabia's ecological restoration, in line with Saudi Green Initiative and Vision 2030 conservation goals.
Tasked with safeguarding wildlife, the National Center uses sophisticated techniques to track and study protected species, aiding in their preservation.
The expansive 25,000 km² NEOM Nature Reserve employs cutting-edge methods and collaborates with researchers to combat global issues like species extinction, contributing to the safeguarding of nature for posterity.
