Lt. Gen. Al-Yahya Visits NEOM: Reviews Contactless eGates and Collaborates on Advanced Travel Tech
Lieutenant General Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Yahya, the Director General of Passports in Saudi Arabia, visited NEOM, a sustainable development project in northwest Saudi Arabia.
He was welcomed by NEOM's CEO, Nadhmi Al-Nasr, and toured facilities including NEOM Bay Airport and its advanced command-and-control center.
During the visit, Al-Yahya reviewed the airport's contactless eGates, which use biometric data from high-resolution cameras for faster passport control.
A new automated border control system is being trialed in Saudi Arabia, allowing for a smooth travel experience for international visitors.
This system is part of a collaboration between NEOM and Jawazat to enhance the traveler experience through technology integration, including AI-driven real-time analytics and predictive systems in NEOM's security operations.
Saudi Arabia is among the few countries implementing such advanced systems.
