Iran Imposes Sanctions on US, British Individuals and Entities for Supporting Israel in Gaza Conflict
Iran announced sanctions on Thursday against several American and British individuals and entities for supporting Israel in its conflict with Hamas.
The sanctions affect seven Americans, including high-ranking military officials, and six British individuals and entities, including government officials and companies like Lockheed Martin and Chevron.
The penalties include blocking accounts and transactions in Iran's financial and banking systems, asset freezes, and visa denials.
A conflict between Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza, backed by Iran, resulted in the deaths of over 1,100 civilians in October 2021, according to Israeli figures.
Israel retaliated with an offensive against Hamas, leading to over 34,000 deaths, mostly women and children, according to Gaza's health ministry.
The consequences of international measures against Iran and its involvement in the conflict are uncertain.
